Jordan

By December 2012, and parallel to its projects in Lebanon, TAWASAL launched its first projects in Jordan implementing its activities as an initiative, targeting similar communities at three governorates: Baqa’a (center), Jerash and, Irbid (north of Jordan). Implemented projects (2012-2015) continued to reach out to other lessfortunate communities in Jordan mainly: Eastern, Western and Southern parts of the Kingdom. TAWASAL received official licensing as a Jordanian NGO in October 2015 carrying the name “TAWASAL Cultural Society” with its Jordanian elected Board of Directors, consultants, coordinators and members.

During 2014-2015 TAWASAL’s projects were implemented in all West Bank governorates (PNA) and the Gaza Strip networking with universities, cultural and academic institutes, civic institutions, academics and educators. Since January 2013, Tawasal continues to implement all of its youth, children and women-targeted projects as TAWASAL Initiative in Palestine mainly: The Palestine National Authorities Areas and, Gaza Strip.

Lebanon

“Tawasal“ was first launched as an independent initiative in Lebanon during April 2012 targeting youth & women in less-fortunate & refugee areas. It was officially licensed in Lebanon mid- July 2014 under the name “TAWASAL Society” to serve as a non-governmental-non-profit, non-sectarian organization.

TAWASAL applied for licensing in France and was officially licensed as an NGO early January 2014 under the name “TAWASAL,” in order to bridge the international gap, encourage educational, scientific, health and cultural advancement & exchange of expertise with the international community.

Our Mission

Tawasal is entasked with:
• Training and Rehabilitation Dducation
• Awareness Raising
• Knowledge Sharing

< Along with a holistic approach that emphasizes life skills, in combination with a mix of technical, vocational, educational and entrepreneurship training. Through such a mission, less fortunate communities of young people & women are prepared to enter the workforce, create their own opportunities, and become agents of change in their areas.

Our Vision

We believe that an educated, cultured, employed & engaged youth & women need to possess the power to face the rising and demanding challenges of poverty, ignorance, limited resources, unemployment, tension, fanaticism, wars & the resulting waves of migration that unfortunately mark this century...

At the heart of our vision is building a ‘Culture of Hope, Work and Production,’ through partnerships & initiatives that:

• Reinforce dialogue and cooperation
• Build bridges across communities
• Boost self-confidence in the target communities’ capacities & potential.

All of which would ultimately prepare targeted individuals to succeed as citizens, employees, entrepreneurs, and change-makers, who have the full right to a decent life.

Our Target

Tawasal targets youth, women & children in less- fortunate and refugee areas, who, despite the effort exerted by previous generations and non-governmental organizations to alleviate their suffering, annual indications continue to reflect that a great majority of them are still trapped in poverty, unemployment, violence, tensions, wars and rigid stereotypes that limit their potential.

Youth

Male & female graduates, university and junior college students.

Children

school children, and dropouts of schools.

Women

Professional young women graduates &, non-university nor college or high school graduates.

Our Approach

We believe that the best solutions are those designed by the people who are closest to the problems. That’s why we consult with the target communities before we shape our strategies. Furthermore, we believe that the best means to solve complex economic and social problems is to address them from multiple angles: therefore we adopt a holistic approach when building a community of women and men who work jointly to end poverty and overcome major challenges. We introduce new priorities, we listen and notice strengths. We share power to build a community. We reinforce human values and community cooperation and above all, we utilise the human potential for community advancement. Through this approach target communities are encouraged to recognize their existing skills and proceed from there.

Means of Implementation

TAWASAL implements its activities through a series of designed projects that reinforce a “Culture of Hope, Work & Production.”
In implementing its projects & activities Tawasal reinforces the multiple principles of humanity, it equally invites and engages various ages of female and male groups, orphans, physically- challenged, local residents, refugees and immigrants.
